Charlotte County Public Schools
Charlotte County Public Schools offer students a comprehensive education
focused on basic academic skills, problem solving, decision
making, communication and technology. The school
system is comprised of an early learning center, four elementary
schools, one middle school, and one high school. Total
enrollment is approximately 2,275 children.
Hampden-Sydney College
Founded in 1775, Hampden-Sydney College
is a private, four-year, independent liberal arts college
for men located in neighboring Prince Edward County.
Hampden-Sydney enrolls approximately 1,100 students and
boasts a student/faculty ratio of eleven to one.
Longwood University
Founded in 1839, Longwood University is
a coeducational, comprehensive state institution located in
Farmville, Virginia (Prince Edward County.) Longwood's
undergraduate enrollment is approximately 3,900 and the
university was recently recognized as one of the nation's
best college buys in the national publication "America's 100
Best College Buys".
Southside Virginia Community College
(SVCC)
SVCC is an accredited community college
that has served the citizens of Southside Virginia for over
thirty-five years. SVCC has seven locations and a
total enrollment of approximately 8,000 students. The
John H. Daniel campus is located in Keysville, Virginia,
providing Charlotte County residents the opportunity to
obtain quality education close to home.
