Northern Virginia.
This map was taken from the Charlotte County Report which was part of a special
supplement to Education Week's "Diplomas County."
This longitudinal study used a formula that combined promotion rates in grades
9, 10, 11, and 12 to determine how many 9th-grade students would complete high
school "on time," with a regular diploma.

Hampden-Sydney College
Founded in 1775, Hampden-Sydney College is
a private, four-year, independent liberal arts college for
men located in neighboring Prince Edward County.
Hampden-Sydney enrolls approximately 1,100 students and
boasts a student/faculty ratio of eleven to one.

Longwood University
Founded in 1839, Longwood University is a
coeducational, comprehensive state institution located in Farmville,
Virginia (Prince Edward County.) The university offers both
undergraduate and graduate programs. Longwood's undergraduate enrollment is
approximately 3,900 and the university was recently recognized as one of
the nation's best college buys in the national publication "America's
100 Best College Buys". |
